Customer Care- Career or just a stepping stone?

If not all, most of us have been there. When we were just getting out of the universities with dreams to reach the skies within us, the initial thought was to start making some bucks. In the region of the world where I have spent most of my career so far, most preferred entry level employment has been Customer Services or as it has evolved into, Customer Care.

Like any other employment this one also has its own challenges. However, let us bust one myth here that this is mostly a temporary employment, it is not, to say the least. You can make a great career out of it!

See it this way:
-You are actually making a difference and resolving anyone’s greatest worry at that time (no one calls or visits just for the sake of it, they have a genuine concern).
-Plus, you get to polish your problem solving skills which is a great essential skill to acquire.

Pakistan has become a favorite outsourcing location worldwide since 2009 and Business Process Outsourcing service exports are further expected to go up to US$ 1.2 Billion. Still thinking of it as a ‘not so exciting career’? Well, time to think again!
